about

An assured re-working of '60s pop and rock influences, Every Other Day at a Time bursts to life with bright guitar hooks, rousing melodies, and exuberant Beach Boys-style harmonies. The band adds enough '90s guitar noise and a healthy sense of irony to the proceedings, making their songs more than simple exercises in nostalgia. Songwriter Ward Dotson's tunes evoke a wide range of musical styles from the chiming power pop of "Dearest Darling" to the Crosby, Stills & Nash-inspired folk sing-a-long "Kentucky Lounge." Guitarist Mark McNally's has one lone songwriting contribution, "Caroline," and although it stands as the album's most direct throwback, is also one of its most irresistible tracks.
